Artemis with Hippolyte

Pour l'histoire de la mort de ce jeune homme, vous la connaissez, Phèdre et compagnie mais comment en est-il arrivé là ? Il ne vouait son culte qu'à Artémis et ignorait Aphrodite qu'il considérait superficielle (et la passion comme quelque chose de mauvais). Pour se venger, la belle déesse rendit sa belle-mère fou amoureux de lui.
Cependant, Artémis demandera au dieu de la médecine, Asclépios de lui rendre son ami Hippolyte (c'est d'ailleurs la dernière personne ressuscitée car Hadès en avait ras-le bol de voir les enfers se vider) . On dit qu'il est ensuite allé finir ses jours auprès d'Aricie, sa chère et tendre.

About the story of how Hippolyte died, you may know it (or not because I'm reffering to a french tragedy about Phaedra who fallen in love with her son-in-law, Hippolyte, the son of her husband Thesee. She told her husband that Hippolyte loved her and Thesee asked the gods to punish his son, the poor lad who was innocent, died under his char, killed by an horrible monster).
For the story between Hippolyte and Artemis : he was a true follower of the goddess and Aphrodite was kinda jealous. She tried to take Hippolyte under her charge but he refused because he thought that passion was bad. So Phaedra fallen for her son-in-law because the goddess was angry. When the boy died, Artemis asked the god of medecine, Asclepios, to make Hippolyte coming back from the deads. He does, Hippolyte lived happily with the girl he loved, Aricie (and Hades asked Asclepios to stop because he was pissed : no more dead for the Underworld !)
